Bringing Our Mission to Life

At Valley, our mission of "caring for our community like family" reflects the depth of compassion we have for those we love when we see them in need. For our community, we hope this mission inspires trust and sets a high bar of expectation for the care we provide. Each day we strive to provide the kind of remarkable care to our community that we want for our loved ones. While our mission is focused on where we are today, our vision is all about where Valley is headed, our journey to be even better than we are now. It reflects our top priorities and core beliefs:

  • SAFETY-- our core value
  • We treat people with respect & compassion
  • We embrace diversity, equity & inclusion
  • We encourage collaboration & teamwork
  • We promote innovation
  • We expect excellence

Exponential growth within our South King County community means we need to keep pace in order to continue to provide access to vital care and services for those we serve. We've taken steps to ensure that Valley is well poised to meet growing demand. We have continued to expand our clinic network to better serve patients closer to home, providing neighborhood urgent care clinics to help residents contain costs by reducing unnecessary, expensive visits for emergency care. We now operate over 50 clinics in South King County staffed by nearly 500 Valley providers.

We continue to provide quality care, as evidenced by The Joint Commission's award of full accreditation triennially for meeting and exceeding national and safety performance standards.

Stroke. Heart Attack. Trauma. Emergent Illness. At Valley Medical Center, we truly hope these never happen to you or someone you love. However, statistics show chances are you or someone you care about has already visited our Emergency Department. Valley cares for more than 85,000 ED patients per year making us not only one of the largest emergency departments in the state of Washington, it places us among the busiest EDs on the West Coast.

At Valley Medical Center, we care for our community like family and it is our goal to ensure that spirit of camaraderie and excellence continue for generations to come.
