Despite their best efforts, UW Medicine has not yet been able to reach fair and sustainable agreements with Aetna that ensure continued access to care and are in the best interests of patients. Effective June 1, 2025, UW Medicine’s contracts with Aetna for Medicare Advantage and Commercial services have expired and we are now out of network with Aetna. Valley's state-of-the-art Birth Center offers a welcoming experience for the entire family, with a home-like setting that allows you and your family to relax and direct your attention to getting to know your new baby:
The comforts of The Birth Center are matched by the expert level of care you receive. Our specially trained nursing staff, midwives and obstetric doctors provide compassionate, family-centered care in a safe, nurturing environment.
The Birth Center has an obstetric specialist, called a hospitalist, on duty 24-hours a day, 365 days a year for the safety of our patients and new arrivals. This innovative program ensures that a physician is available in the event of an obstetric emergency, including Caesarean births.
All parents look forward to healthy pregnancies and routine deliveries. But unexpected challenges or complications sometimes occur. Valley's Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) provides special monitoring, treatment, technology, and staff for sick or premature infants.
Neonatal specialists from Seattle Children's and UW Medicine Neonatology provide comprehensive, around the clock care for infants in Valley's NICU.
