Nominate for the BEE Award

What is The BEE Award?

BEE stands for Being Exceptional Everyday: The award celebrates and honors the exceptional skills and daily compassion given by our non-nursing staff. Acknowledging the strength behind teamwork, the BEE Award was conceived by the DAISY Foundation—because a DAISY can't survive without a BEE and a BEE can't survive without a DAISY.

How are BEE Award Recipients Honored?

Each BEE Award honoree will be recognized at a public ceremony in their unit and will receive: a hand-carved stone sculpture entitled Circle of Friends, a BEE Award pin and commemorative certificate.

About The DAISY Foundation

The DAISY Foundation was established in 1999 by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, who died of complications of the auto-immune disease, Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia Purpura (ITP), at the age of 33. During Pat’s eight- week hospitalization, his family was awestruck by the care and compassion his nurses provided—not only to Pat, but to everyone in his family. To honor Patrick’s memory and the extraordinary nursing care he received, his family created The DAISY Foundation, which focuses on nominating and awarding nurses that provide spectacular care.
